The forests of Bera in Rajasthan are home to leopards and humans alike, and it is a harmonious coexistence. Mythology tells us that the Rabari community was placed on Earth by Lord Shiva to tend to camels that belonged to his consort, Parvati. On a recent trip to Bera in search of an elusive pride of leopards, I chanced upon this couple at the break of dawn. While I hadn’t spotted any leopards yet, this couple walking the fields nearby were perfect subjects for a long range (200-500m) candid. Photography is about making the most of an opportunity. It’s the ones that take you by surprise that you treasure most.
